She was initially supportive of Joan Watson's work relationship with Sherlock Holmes, and even suggested that she could change her career to be a consultant detective,[1] but after Joan was held at gunpoint by a man on the case Sherlock was working with, Candace advices her to move on and find another client since she's not being paid to work as Sherlock's sober companion anymore. She is concerned for Joan's safety in her current career.[2]
